A Brief History of Aliso Viejo

Aliso Viejo had been an unincorporated community in Orange County since around 1995.  It officially became Orange County's 34th city on July 1, 2001.  As of the 2000 census, Aliso Viejo population was 40,166.  It is definitely higher as of 2007 as numerous neighborhoods have been built since that time.  Aliso Viejo is a community that was designed for residents to be able to live, work and play all in the same area.  A list of homes currently under construction are listed  below.

Aliso Viejo has a very desireable location within Orange County.  It is directly inland from Laguna Beach which boasts some of the most scenic beaches on the coast of Southern California.  The cities of Laguna Beach and Aliso Viejo are separated by a beautiful canyon that is Aliso Woods Regional Park.  The park boasts miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking.  The San Joaquin Transportation Corridor (known as the 73) is accessed in the heart of Aliso Viejo and allows quick commute time north to John Wayne Airport and major job centers as well as south.
